Employment Opportunities at The Brooklyn School Open Positions for 2008-2009 School Year: First Grade and Part-time Music and Games Teachers The Brooklyn Waldorf School, located in the neighborhood of Fort Greene in Brooklyn, New York, is looking to fill the following positions for the 2008-2009 school year:
First Grade Teacher - We are looking for an imaginative and dedicated educator for our incoming first grade class. Candidates for this position must have Waldorf Teacher Training and a Bacheloršs degree. Teachers with experience are preferred. The base salary for this position is $37,000, with increments added for education and previous teaching experience. Health benefits are included.
Part-Time Music Teacher - We are looking for a creative educator to teach the elementary grades (1-3) music two times per week. This position will grow as the school grows, adding another class each year. The elementary school music program includes choral singing and pentatonic flute. Candidates with Waldorf Music Teacher Training are preferred and all candidates must have a familiarity with the Waldorf method. A competitive hourly wage will be offered for this position.
Part-Time Games Teacher - We are looking for an energetic educator to teach the elementary grades (1-3) games two times per week. This position will also grow as the school grows, adding a class each year. Candidates with Spatial Dynamics training are preferred and all candidates must have a familiarity with the Waldorf method. A competitive hourly wage will be offered for this position.
